ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Reporting to the General Manager the Technical Writer is responsible for researching, analysing and developing technical process documentation with a strong emphasis on instructional design.  As well as creating new material there will be a requirement to edit and standardise existing processes, practices and user manuals.  A key aspect of the role is document quality control and management which encompasses the maintenance of records and files in compliance with established principles and legislation. 

Key responsibilities

  • Develop an understanding of internal systems, processesses and technology
  • Capture and communicate technical information in a user friendly way
  • Enhance customer engagement by creating media such as blogs, wikis and videos
  • Refine and maintain on-line help for internal stakeholders
  • Develop user training and support materials
  • Document management including adherance to internal and external regulations
  • And more!

ABOUT THE REQUIREMENTS

The successful candidate will demonstrate and bring to the role:

  • Minimum 3 years experience as a Technical Writer within financial services
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills 
  • Tertiary qualifications in IT, Engineering or Communications highly regarded
  • A sound understanding of document management methodologies
  • A sound understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle
  • Exposure to Information Technology Infrastructure Library
  • Ability to elicit and impart technical information with the end user in mind
