My client is a global leader in the production & exploration of coal seam gas.

Principal Process Control Engineer

The incumbent is a lead technical member of the Operations Interface - Infrastructure and Services providing discipline specific engineering expertise in Process Control Systems (PCS) , Power Management Systems (PMS) and High Voltage Protection and Control systems communicating across both physical and virtual digital networks.

The incumbent evaluates the performance and compliance of PCS and PMS systems equipment to local legislation, recommending modifications to existing systems and influences changes to future project designs.

The incumbent is required to interface with key industry standard bodies, keeping abreast of technology changes which impact the company's infrastructure development activities.

Key Responsibilities:

- Development of operational strategies for process control and power management systems ensuring compliance with relevant international standards and local legislation
- Interfaces across projects and multi-disciplines during FEED, detailed design and construction injecting Operational requirements for digital networks and distributed automation systems,
- Provides discipline expertise and technical guidance to commissioning, start-up and handover teams for all process control, digital networks and power management systems.

Key Requirements:

Demonstrable technology experience in :
o Virtualised deployment of ABB client server architecture
o IEC61850 communication protocol implementation and testing
o TCP-IP network systems and security strategy and implementation
o Juniper router and Hirschman switches

Verifiable performance and delivery in positions of technical authority
Experience in oversight of technical staff & ability to lead a team
Experience in oil & gas / critical utilities environment in maintaining associated digital infrastructure
