Our client is an international renewable energy company with a unique, commercially efficient system for extracting energy from renewable energy sources and converting it to electricity. Due to further secured funding and a successful pilot launch they are now looking to commercialise this highly promising new technology.

The Electrical Engineering Project Director will build and lead a team of internal and sub-contracted electrical, instrumentation and control engineering resources. The role will begin with familiarisation of the current designs and then move to the requirements of the company’s current technology commercialisation objectives.

Key Responsibilities
• Design and maintain the Company’s core electrical, instrumentation and control design for its technologies
• Manage, mentor and lead a team of professional engineers to enable it to produce technical excellence in a quality assured approach
• Prepare project schedules and engineering budgets as well as RFQs and POs for equipment, materials and services within the delegated engineering scope for all of the Company’s pre- and post commercial projects
• Prepare technical and commercial evaluations of quotations and tenders from vendors and suppliers
• Define and manage all technical interfaces and battery limits within the delegated scope to other disciplines within the engineering department, vendors, suppliers and third parties, including clients and certifying bodies
• Prepare and implement standards for all project documentation for operation (DFO) and maintenance
• Assist with the international representation of the Company at trade fairs and conferences

Qualifications & Experience
•    Degree in Electrical Engineering
•    Full end-to-end delivery of all project aspects from FEED through to commissioning in an EPC context
•    Hands on experience in managing suppliers and subcontractors as well as first experience in heading up the department for electrical, instrumentation & control engineering
•    Minimum of 15 years experience, ideally with a mix of methodology from oil & gas projects in an EPC context, design experience from off-shore installation and/or power generation

Salary/Rate:  $140000 - $160000
